Camp Lu-Jo KISMIF

Dear Camp Lu-Jo Kismif Family,

The Board of Directors of Camp Lu-Jo Kismif wishes to thank everyone who has lifted Camp Lu-Jo up in prayer!  Thank you for your partnership in prayer and in this work of teaching the Gospel.  The Lord has richly blessed us in many ways!

In February 2012, Camp Lu-Jo Kismif was informed that the IRS had removed the Camp’s 501(c)(3) status back in January 2011.  This was due to a filing error of three consecutive years of transposing two numbers in the long camp account number in its annual IRS filing.  The IRS has a no tolerance mistake policy for groups with 501(c)(3) status.  This unintentional filing error was immediately corrected.  Work was promptly begun to restore the Camp’s 501(c)(3) status and to restore it retroactively to the time the IRS removed the status.  In May 2014, the IRS finally reissued 501(c)(3) status to Camp Lu-Jo and made the status retroactive back to January 2011.  This meant Camp Lu-Jo could continue to accept donations freely as a non-profit organization as it had in the past.

As a non-profit organization, the operation of Camp Lu-Jo is only partially funded by camper fees.  The camp is able to continue because of generous donations from individuals, families, and churches.  Would you please consider giving to Camp Lu-Jo Kismif?  It takes your donations to keep this ministry going.  We seek to bring God’s Word to young people and their families through summer Bible camps, retreats, and other various events.  With your help, Camp Lu-Jo will continue to be a unique tool in the spreading of the Gospel!  Won’t you consider helping us financially?  Donations should be send to:  Camp Lu-Jo Kismif, PO Box 2232, Lawton, OK 73502.

In Christian love and for our King,
Camp Lu-Jo Kismif Board of Directors

Honoring Steve Gregg and Peak Week

For over three decades, Peak Week has indeed been considered a pinnacle time during Lu-Jo each summer for the gathering of friends and family to grow closer to God and one another by learning, worshipping, and serving. Since 1983 Dr. Steve Gregg has directed this great session, which has impacted thousands of campers and staff members. Words cannot adequately express appreciation for his devotion to showing Christ to young people throughout his years of directing! After 32 years of directing this week, Dr. Gregg and the name “Peak Week” are retiring.

A great percentage of everyone associated with Camp Lu-Jo has attended Peak Week at one point or another and had the chance to be blessed by the staff’s devotion to Luke 2:52 and helping the campers grow by increasing wisdom, stature, and favor with both God and men. THANK YOU FOR YOUR DECADES OF SERVICE, STEVE GREGG!!!

(p.s. those who love this session, don’t fret! It will continue with new name to celebrate continuing to make an impact in the lives of young people for years to come!)
